A review of “Meetings in his kingdom” (the Intro pt 2)
The reading of Mike Peters and his subject's materials are a bit of a drudgery for me, but having the Grace of God to keep my head above the dirty waters here is very comforting and refreshing. It would be tricky for any man to read such things without knowing the Grace of God in Truth to raise you above the alluring power of this legalistic influence. For this persuasion works to bring you down under the law rather than in the True Grace of God according to His Word.
A quote from the intro:
“To put it yet another way, this writing is about Life, Together, as a Family, under our Father.”
I suppose this is what most of those in Mike’s following really believe or they wouldn’t be there. Although most likely some are there under mental and emotional duress, not knowing where else to turn without being attacked by Mike's practice of trapping through false condemnations. They have been swayed by the misleading teachings and work of Mike, and only God knows if Mike even conceives it as possible that he is in grave error before God. It may well be that Mike thought he was doing God’s will in what has come about through the years. But as Jesus said:
“These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. “And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.” (John 16:1-3)
This is the extreme mentioned by Christ, but it begins somewhere. After many years since this book of Mike’s has been written, we have come to see the real fruit of where Mike has been going. It is far different than the “make believe” world presented in this book --and their other materials-- as time and testimony of others will tell even more than it already has. We know that in the Peters group they have been putting people “out of the synagogues” for not following Mike’s set of rules and regulations to perfection. And then these people who are "put out" of Mike's little kingdom are called “of Satan” for simply escaping their snares. As Jesus said:
“It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. (Mt 10:25-26)
And he really seems to show that he does “think that he offers God service”. It is a very sad picture that I believe more and more people will see if the Lord tarries. Our greatest defense to the lies and slander propagated by those gripped by Mike’s doctrine and practice is time. For time is under and in the Hands of God, so we rest in Him knowing His promises are sure:
"Though his hatred is covered by deceit,
His wickedness will be revealed before the assembly." (Prov 26:26)
Many have already testified to this fact about Mike Peters:
“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter,
But war was in his heart;
His words were softer than oil,
Yet they were drawn swords.” (Ps 55:21)
He has --to this day-- spiritually, mentally, and emotionally --in an ungodly way-- wounded many individuals and families… and this is an unfortunate fact that many are living with at this very hour. Even after striking them down with verbal assaults, he would trample on them with public slander and libel if they speak out against his wickedness. Being personally aware of some of these people who have been attacked by Mike and his adherents, I am motivated in doing what you see here in this blog at this time. It’s not right to let it go unhindered, which is what we do if we say little to help others avoid the snares.
In a note at the intro of Mihk we find:
“To point anyone towards us, rather than towards our Brother and King and the Truth of His Word, would be a tragedy. As soon as anyone promotes themselves, or offers themselves as a model of God’s Truth (though such models are a valid possibility if GOD does the promotion by His Grace—1Thes.1:7, 1:6, 2:10, 14), a fall is near. When they offer themselves as a “fishbowl” for others to look at, they become driven by their need to protect their reputation and to promote their paradigm.”
They did recognize an important truth here at their “small beginning” and it has proven to hit them hard now. The words “tragedy”and “a fall is near” tend to ring loudly for those of us who are certain of Mike’s errors of doctrine and practice and the outcome they have produced through the recent years.
One final comment on the introduction of “Meetings in his kingdom”. His words are smooth and seem to be softer than oil but remember the words of our Good Savior when He warned us of certain types of people who claimed God‘s leadership comes through them:
Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. (Mt 23:1-4)
Many of us have known the consequences of not realizing many of Jesus’ warnings in time. Please don’t become one of the victoms of legalism hidden behind a smooth tongue. We are praying for all who read this blog. Though my motives are judged otherwise, I want you to know that I am doing this for the sake of you or others avoiding THE SNARE.
“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler…” (Ps 91:3a)
“Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth." ( Ps 124:7-8)
It is so good to be FREE!!!
God bless you.

Wow! Denny, I believe you said all that the Lord wanted said! It is a miry trek to dulve into the writings of Peter's and his clones. Yuck! For they reek of Peter's words and NOT the graceful, joyful, liberating words the Lord. VERY well said!
AND wow, what a telling quote...
I see that they ARE driven to protect themselves. That's why all the attacks on former members and the information control that Mike has over his followers. WOW, I am HOPEFUL that more will be set free and there can be an exodus.
Thanks anonymous. It is in the heart of our prayers that God will continue to set the captives free. This is why Jesus came, to set men free from worldly sin AND legalistic sin. As we know from the Scriptures Jesus said: "“Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. “For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him." (Mt 21:31-31) It is a sad truth but the hearts of legalists are harder to break by grace than the hearts of those in worldly sins.
