Have you read the instructions?

Ducks on the Elslager Pond
Ever purchased something and decided to skip the instruction book? Sometimes it may work out but other times it may get you into a real mess of trouble. Missing even just one detail can throw you way off and make it very difficult to get things going as they were intended. And sometimes paying attention to only some of the instruction book and ignoring how it is all put together (or balanced) with the rest of the instructions is worse! So when it come to life and death matters (or eternal life and eternal death matters) the Instruction Book that God gave to us, known as the Holy Scriptures, is far too important for us humans. To skip or skimp on God's Words is very unwise indeed. It does us no good to economize on knowing God’s Word or "the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:26) because we are too busy or think we know enough. We should seriously desire all of God's Words to live by if we are born again of His Living Word.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan, one of His responses to the Devil was:

"It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’ ".

Paul said:

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Tim 3:16-17) -nkjv

and...

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom..." (Col 3:16a) -nkjv

So we clearly see here that God did give us "instruction in righteousness" for this life and to prepare us for the life to come. And His desire is that we let Christ’s Word dwell in us richly with all wisdom.

Are you paying close attention to every Word of God?
