Who am I?

Who are you?

Someone in a place of "authority" asked me that one time when he was mad at me for respectfully questioning his unbiblical behavior. If Paul the Apostle can say of himself "I am nothing", then my answer as just a sinner saved by grace has to be no less. In fact, as I recall the following statement from this "pastor" confirmed this to me when he followed and said "you're nothing!"

Well, I must agree that if I don't do all things in and through the love of God as 1 Cor. 13 makes it clear I am nothing. My prayer for this Blog is that I will be sensitive to the love of God in what I say on any post here. If I am not, you are free to make me aware of this. But please keep in mind that Jesus, the Apostles, and other disciples of Christ (not the denomination) gave us certain examples of the love of God expressed through the things they said and did for the sake of the unfeigned Truth of the Gospel.

For "example":
John 2:14-17

And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!" Then His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up."

Acts 13:6-10

Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, "O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

Acts 7:51-53 (Stephen's words to the "all-knowing" religious leaders)

"You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. "Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, "who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it."

And Christ's many rebukes in Mt 23 containing such statements as:

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!" (very repetitive)

"Woe to you, blind guides..."

"Fools and blind!"

"Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!"

"Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?"

And John the Baptist: Mt 3:7-8

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,..

Mark 8:33

But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He (Jesus) rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

I could go on but I think you may have the point that "speaking the Truth in Love" can be a bit rough sometimes. This is not for the sake of being rough and sounding tough. But when it is called for according to the Word of God and done in the Love of the Truth that saves men's souls and protects them from those who promote error, it is the loving thing to do.

I believe God may have put a bit of boldness in me to do this so you may see it from time to time on this Blog. I absolutely hate the evil perpetrated on the innocent and naive souls that wish to know the loving Shepherd and Bishop of their souls. You will see this zeal for Christ's house.

Otherwise, as a servant of the Lord, I hope to share with any and all who come here the encouraging and edifying Words of our Savior and His Apostles and Prophets.

2Tim 2:24-26

"And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will."

Rom 14:19

"Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another."

1Thes 5:11
"Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."

FEEL FREE to be a part of edifying the Body of Christ any way possible here!

Thanks!

Hello.
I like your pun. I married into a family of punsters and we groan frequently. I also like the type of knowing that we are to have; it's not just spouting facts. Everyone has that kind of knowledge. But knowing with a capital "K" is found in John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you sent. That speaks to me as knowing is to be known. Jesus is our teacher...we don't need any man to teach us (1Jn 2:27) We don't! Sure we can enjoy fellowship, as Jesus builds it, but to feel that we aren't living rightly or fully because we don't have a hundred mothers, brothers etc etc per Mark 10:30 ... rubbish. We are complete in HIM. Complete.
